Sonnet CIII

The chemicals on jars of mayonnaise,
the toothpaste, soap, and flies upon my sink,
the harsh critiques of global warming’s blaze,
the many riddles to the ones that think,
the notes to friends and loved ones that I praise,
the sorrow, rage, and angst that since did shrink,
the winter snow, the rain, the sun, the haze,
the condemnations of society…

So many thoughts I’ve written all about!
Some mentioned here, most not, more coming soon.
And now, I look way back – at frowns
and love and joy – within my written brews.
All seems content with life within this house –
my inspiration, vibrant as high noon!

  1. This reminds me of my older sonnet from my Shakespearean group that uses the words "Within these lines" at the beginning of each line.

  3. I remember which sonnets they are! for the first few lines atleast... after that its a little vague, but anyway I really like this sonnet, more than the within these lines one

  4. Yeah, after the first few lines, it gets more general and talks more about my inspiration instead of specific references to previous sonnets. Glad you noticed which ones! :P

A word is dead
When it is said,
Some say.

I say it just
Begins to live
That day.
